Denise Anderson, Executive Director, National Health Information Sharing and Analysis Center (NH-ISAC)

Denise Anderson has over 25 years of management level experience in the private sector. Denise is President of the National Health Information Sharing and Analysis Center (NH-ISAC), a non-profit organization that is dedicated to protecting the health sector from physical and cyber attacks and incidents through dissemination of trusted and timely information.

Denise currently serves as Chair of the National Council of ISACs and participates in a number of industry groups such the Cross-Sector Cyber Security Working Group (CSCSWG). She was instrumental in implementing a CI/KR industry initiative to establish a private sector liaison seat at the National Infrastructure Coordinating Center (NICC) to enhance information sharing between the private sector, CI/KR community and the federal government and serves as one of the liaisons. She is a financial and health sector representative to the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center (NCCIC) — a Department of Homeland Security-led coordinated watch and warning center that improves national efforts to address threats and incidents affecting the nation's critical information technology and cyber infrastructure. She sits on the Cyber Unified Coordination Group, (UCG) - a public/private advisory group that comes together to provide guidance during a significant cyber event – where she also represents the financial and health sectors.

Denise is certified as an EMT (B), Firefighter I/II and Instructor I/II in the state of Virginia, and is an Adjunct Instructor at the Fire and Rescue Academy in Fairfax County, Virginia. She is also certified under the National Incident Management System (NIMS). In addition, she has served on the Board and as Officer and President of an international credit association, and has spoken at events all over the globe.

Denise holds a BA in English, magna cum laude, from Loyola Marymount University and an MBA in International Business from American University. She is a graduate of the Executive Leaders Program at the Naval Postgraduate School Center for Homeland Defense and Security.
Rena Brewer, RN, MA, CEO, Global Partnership for Telehealth, Inc.

Rena Brewer, RN, MA, CEO of Global Partnership for Telehealth, Inc., has 11 years experience in building telemedicine networks across the southeast. Global Partnership for Telehealth, Inc. (GPT), a charitable nonprofit corporation is the umbrella organization for Georgia Partnership for Telehealth, Alabama Partnership for Telehealth, and Florida Partnership for Telehealth which are nonprofits dedicated to promoting improvements in healthcare by assisting in the establishment of telehealth programs. As GPT has expanded operations; international opportunities with mission organizations have developed resulting in the 2013 formation of GPT Missions. GPT Missions is partnering with various mission groups to implement telehealth services in orphanages, clinics, and hospitals in Guatemala, Afghanistan, Macedonia, and Honduras.

Prior to her current position she served as the Director of the Southeastern TeleHealth Resource Center (SETRC), one of 14 federally funded regional & national resource centers providing support & guidance to those wishing to implement telehealth services in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. SETRC is a HRSA grant awarded to GPT in 2010, 2013, and again in 2016. Rena directed the development & launch in 2011 of SETRC’s workforce training program, the National School of Applied Telehealth (NSAT). Dr. Budman is a Family Physician with many years of EHR experience on numerous platforms. He created content for a large multi-state IDN, worked on many organization wide quality initiatives, and has a passion for workflow improvements for provider and patient care needs.
 

Mark Hagland, Editor-in-Chief, Healthcare Informatics

Mark Hagland has been Editor-in-Chief of Healthcare Informatics (www.healthcare-informatics.com) since January 2010. Prior to that, he was Contributing Editor and then Senior Contributing Editor to the magazine, for over ten years. He has spent a quarter century in the health care publishing field, as a writer, editor, public speaker, and author. He has won numerous national and regional journalism awards, and is the author of two books on healthcare quality and efficiency: Paradox and Imperatives in Health Care (2008, with Jeffrey C. Bauer, Ph.D.) and Transformative Quality: The Emerging Revolution in Health Care Performance (2009). He holds a master's degree in journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.

Michael J. McCoy, M.D. has diverse experience as a practicing clinician, a physician executive in the electronic health record vendor community, a national consultant, and as the first Chief Health Information Officer for The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), departing that role this past January.  Dr. McCoy is a board certified OB/GYN who practiced in a collaborative solo private setting for more than 20 years. He was an early adopter of EMR systems, becoming was the CMIO for a small 7-hospital system in the Atlanta area.

Moving into the corporate world from that CMIO role, he worked at a major enterprise vendor, and was an EVP and CMO responsible for Product Development at an ambulatory vendor. He was the first Chief Medical Information officer for a large, 40-hospital, faith-based IDN. As a consultant, he served as The American College/Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ national health information technology strategist, participated in CCHIT, IHE, HITSP, PEHRC, AAMI, and other SDOs involved in healthcare information technology and interoperability. He was on the EHR Vendors Association (EHRA) Board, and he currently is the Co-Chair of Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) International, representing HIMSS.
In addition to special interests in interoperability, he is passionate about consumer engagement, person-centered care, and privacy/security.

Glenn E. Pearson, FACHE is founder and Principal of Pearson Health Tech Insights, LLC (PHTI).   PHTI assists both product developers in their design phases and investors in their due diligence processes determine if a product or service is likely to be embraced by its target market.  PHTI also helps emerging and established healthcare products companies fine-tune their marketing approaches to see if there are opportunities to enhance their effectiveness.
 
Glenn has over 30 years of experience in the hospital field.  He served for 19+ years as Executive Vice President at Georgia Hospital Association in Marietta, Georgia where he provided leadership in the following areas:

Suleima Salgado, MBA, Director of Telehealth and Telemedicine, Georgia Department of Public Health
 
Suleima Salgado, MBA is the Director of Telehealth & Telemedicine for the Georgia Department of Public Health. Suleima has over 8 years’ experience in government, media, communications, telehealth and public relations experience. She has earned a Master of Business Administration from Southeastern University in Florida and has led several state and local public health initiatives.  
 
Suleima is responsible for setting the Department’s strategic goals to increase access to care for Georgians.  She manages day to day operations and works with statewide stakeholders to coordinate, promote, and execute telehealth projects across Georgia and has oversight of budgets and grants. 
 
Her experience in expanding Telemedicine includes public health program specialty clinics and county health departments. This statewide collaboration has led to tremendous rate of success. With strong community partnerships, this allows for a wide range of access to available specialist and healthcare providers.  
 
Prior to this role, Suleima served as the Deputy Director of Communications for the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH). In this role, Ms. Salgado assisted the Director to oversee all aspects of internal and external communications for the Department and its programs and divisions. The division managed all marketing and communications plans media relations, and vendors while guiding communicators in Georgia’s 18 public health districts.
