Fernando Blanco is Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at CHRISTUS Health, one of the nation’s largest Catholic healthcare delivery system.  He is responsible for the Cybersecurity program supporting CHRISTUS Health’s delivery network across four states, in three countries and in more than 300 locations.  Prior to his experience in Healthcare, Mr. Blanco worked in domestic and international information security roles in the consumer products industry. Mr. Blanco lectures in areas of Cybersecurity and IT General Controls.

David Finn, CISA, CISM, CRISC is the Health Information Technology Officer for Symantec.  Prior to that role he was the Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Information Services for Texas Children’s Hospital, one of the largest pediatric integrated delivery systems in the United States.  He also served as the Privacy and Security Officer for Texas Children’s.  Prior to that Mr. Finn spent 7 years as a healthcare consultant with IMG/Healthlink and PwC, serving last as the EVP of Operations for Healthlink.

Mr. Finn has more than 30 years’ experience in the planning, management and control of information technology and business processes.  He is focused on creating and maintaining trust in and value from information and information systems.  Mr. Finn’s key skills include IT Governance and Control, Project Management, Systems Selection and Implementation, Business and IT Partnering, and IT Audit, Control and Security.

Mr. Finn has presented nationally and internationally on such topics as project management, professional leadership and staff development, and privacy and security. He has contributed to or written articles on IT Management, Disaster Recovery and Security for such as journals as CIO Digest and Baseline.

Finn holds a BA degree from the University of North Dakota and an MA from Angelo State University. He currently serves on the CHIME Board of Trustees and on the Information Systems Audit and Control Association’s (ISACA’s) Professional Influence and Advocacy Committee (PIAC).  During 2014, Mr. Finn worked closely with CHIME management to create and initiate the Association for Executives in Healthcare Information Security (AEHIS).  In the past, he served on the national Board of HIMSS. He also is a long-time Board member of Healthcare for the Homeless - - Houston (2 FQHCs) and is Vice President of the Primary Care Innovation Center in Houston.

Keith Fraidenburg, MBA, EVP & Chief Strategy Officer, CHIME
 
Keith Fraidenburg is Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), a 1,400-plus member professional organization for healthcare information executives.
 
Mr. Fraidenburg has more than 20 years of experience working within the healthcare IT industry, including nearly 16 years of association management experience. In his role as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer, he is responsible for providing overall leadership and tactical execution of the organization’s strategic plan while identifying and cultivating new growth opportunities in support of the organization’s long-term strategic goals. He also maintains primary responsibility for the organization’s advocacy and public policy efforts and its platform of education programs and services.
 
In doing so, he works closely with senior healthcare IT executives, key industry leaders, and industry association partners, including the American Hospital Association (AHA), American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and others to keenly understand the issues, concerns, and needs of healthcare information executives.
In his previous role as Vice President of Education and Communications for CHIME, Mr. Fraidenburg was responsible for leading the education, marketing, and communications programs and services available through CHIME.
 
In addition to his responsibilities within CHIME, Mr. Fraidenburg is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and HIMSS.
 
He achieved his masters in business administration from Columbia College and degree in business administration from Central Michigan University.
Randall Frietzsche, MSc, CISSP, C|EH, C|HFI, Information Security Officer, QualChoice Health Plans, Catholic Health Initiatives
Randall Frietzsche is the Information Security Officer (CISO) for QualChoice Health Plans, a division of Catholic Health Initiatives.  Randall is an International Fellow with the Information System Security Association (ISSA), the Director of Communications for the ISSA Denver Chapter, and was the President of the ISSA Kentuckiana Chapter for eight years.  He holds a Master of Science in Information Security and Assurance from Western Governors University, and is an Adjunct Professor - Information Security for Ivy Tech State College.  Randall holds the CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker and 22 other technical and industry certifications. 
Andrew Labbo, MBA, CISSP, ITIL, Chief Information Security Officer, Denver Health and Hospital Authority
 
Andrew Labbo is the Chief Information Security Officer & Privacy Officer at Denver Health and Hospital Authority, and he is the owner and principal of Rocky Mountain HIPAA Guru, which offers HIPAA consulting and HIPAA advisory services.  Drew has over 18 years’ experience with information security and technology and over 12 years’ experience as a Privacy and Data Security Officer.  He is an expert on HIPAA Privacy and Security Rule regulations as well as HITECH and Omnibus regulatory updates.  Drew’s recommendations are guided by his education in health administration and experience and leadership integrating privacy and security controls with health information technology infrastructure and applications, as well as treatment, payment, operations, and human subjects research workflows and processes.
Michael Mercer, Chief Security Officer, Denver Division, Federal Bureau of Investigation
 
Michael Ray Mercer is the Chief Security Officer for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the Denver Field Office which covers the states of Colorado and Wyoming, to include nine Resident Agency Offices located throughout both states.  He is responsible for physical, personnel, information and industrial security for the Denver Division.  Mr. Mercer directs the Denver FBI Security Squad in identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining security processes in the Denver Field Office to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liability in all areas of physical, and personal risk; establishes appropriate standards and risk controls;  and ensures that the appropriate policies and procedures related to data security are implemented.
 
Prior to joining the FBI, Mr. Mercer enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and served on the Cutter Deceive and Air Station Miami.  Mr. Mercer joined the FBI in 1991 as an Electronics Technician, where he was responsible for the Tampa Division’s wide area network, mobile communications, facility alarms, access control and CCTV system.  He has been the FBI Denver Division’s Chief Security Officer for the past 8 years and is a Certified Ethical Hacker.
Mac McMillan, FHIMSS, CISM, Co-founder and CEO, CynergisTek
 
Mac McMillan is co-founder and CEO of CynergisTek, Inc., a top-ranked information security and privacy consulting firm. He is a member of CHIME’s AEHIS Advisory Board, Chair of the HIMSS Privacy & Security Policy Task Force and recognized as a HIMSS Fellow. McMillan brings nearly 40 years of combined intelligence, security countermeasures and consulting experience from positions within the government and private sector and has worked in the healthcare industry since his retirement from the federal government in 2000.
 
McMillan is a thought leader in compliance, security and privacy issues in healthcare, contributing to several industry trade publications, blogs and newsletters. He was recognized in Becker’s Hospital Review lists of influential healthcare IT leaders by both its writers and readers in 2015, and was named one of the top ten health information security influencers of 2013. He currently sits on several other advisory boards, including HIT Exchange HealthTech Industry, HCPro Editorial Advisory Board and HealthCare’s Most Wired™ Survey Advisory Board. McMillan has contributed to more than 300 articles and postings in Healthcare IT magazines, blogs and other industry publications. He also presents regularly at industry association events, such as CHIME, HCCA, HIMSS and AHIMA, and was a contributing author to the HIMSS book, “Information Security in Healthcare: Managing Risk.”
 
McMillan served as Director of Security for two separate Defense Agencies, and sat on numerous interagency intelligence and security countermeasures committees while serving in the U.S. government. He holds a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Texas A&M University. He is a graduate of the Senior Officials in National Security program at the JF Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a 1993/4 Excellence in Government Fellow.
Sumit Sehgal, CTO Healthcare, Intel Security
 
With a goal of achieving the elusive balance between Information Security and Human Factors, Sumit Sehgal has spent the last 15 years working in the healthcare industry to implement varying levels of security programs and best practices. Sumit’s passion is to work towards building contextual security and privacy programs that bridge the gap between influencing existing employee behaviors, and classical paradigms that govern information security best practices specifically as they pertain to adoption of new and emerging trends in technology and workforce.
 
Prior to his role as CTO Healthcare for Intel Security, Sumit served as the Chief Information Security Officer for leading academic medical centers located in Boston Massachusetts and Washington D.C. Sumit is an alumnus from Milwaukee School of Engineering focusing in Software Engineering and holds multiple industry certifications relating to Information Security program management and auditing.
Mike Smith, Vice President, Financial & Services, KLAS Research
 
As the Vice President of Financial and Services research, Mike monitors all KLAS conducted research in the financial and revenue cycle software and HIT services fields. Under Mike’s leadership, KLAS has published in-depth research on IT outsourcing, business intelligence, cloud computing, ICD-10, computer assisted coding, human capital management, revenue cycle services, Epic consulting  services, revenue cycle perception, community HIS, Meditech consulting services, staff scheduling, meaningful use consulting services, interface engines, and HIE consulting services. Mike has also authored two featured articles in HFM Magazine for IT Outsourcing and Revenue Cycle Consulting and an article for Advance on Transcriptions Services.
 
In 2011 Mike testified to the Adoption/Certification Workgroup of the HIT Policy Committee regarding usability.
 
Mike has been with KLAS for 11 years and has over 20 years of experience in the High Tech industry with experience in project management, product development, business development, and market research.
Mike has a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Brigham Young University and currently resides in Draper, Utah with his wife Mischele and 6 children.
Gib Sorebo, Chief Cybersecurity Strategist, Leidos Health
 
Gib Sorebo has been working in the information technology industry for more than twenty years in both the public and private sector. In addition to federal and state governments, Gib has done security consulting in the financial services, healthcare, and energy sectors. He is currently responsible for coordinating cybersecurity strategy and activities in the healthcare and energy sectors for Leidos. He co-authored a book on Smart Grid Security that was published in December 2011. He is also a frequent speaker at major conferences where he has given talks on the Internet of Things, information security liability, Sarbanes-Oxley, E-Discovery, smart grid security, incident response, breach notification, and several other topics. Gib holds a law degree from the Catholic University of America, a Master’s Degree in Legislative Affairs from George Washington University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Chicago.
Anna Turman, CHCIO, CIO, Chadron Community Hospital
 
Anna Turman is a strategic business partner providing information systems vision, process efficiencies, and daily management as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Information Officer, and Security Officer for Chadron Community Hospital and Health Services.  Chadron Community Hospital and Health Services is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in Chadron, Nebraska that also provides community services agencies of four communities in three counties of rural Nebraska, two physician-owned clinics, and a Provider Based Rural Health Clinic.   Ms. Turman is currently past president of Nebraska HIMSS Chapter board, on the Board of Directors of Pioneer Manor Nursing Home, and the Nebraska eHealth Council.  Ms. Turman has faced many of the challenges typically encountered by small rural health care organizations including security.
Karl West, CISO, Intermountain Healthcare
 
Karl West is the Chief Information Security Officer and Assistant Vice President of Information Systems at Intermountain Healthcare, an integrated delivery network of 22 hospitals and 185 clinics in Utah and Southern Idaho. Karl is a well-respected speaker and security expert who is often sought after by other organizations that want to embed his holistic solutions in their security strategies.
 
At Intermountain, Karl is responsible for all aspects of the organization’s security strategy. Karl’s leadership—throughout the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of an excellent security program—has earned Intermountain national recognition as a leader in health information security.
The teams Karl inspires cover a wide range of security specialties—governance, architecture, risk and compliance, Identity and Access, eDiscovery, forensics, and incident management. Protecting and defending against unauthorized access to patient and employee information, clinical systems, networks and data is Karl’s vocation. He’s keenly interested in innovation as well, especially the development of new technologies that improve care and lower costs.
 
For more than 30 years, Karl has been involved in information technology and security. Prior to his role at Intermountain, Karl was Vice President and Managing Partner at AT&T Consulting Services.
Karl is a member of the Utah Health Information Network (UHIN) Privacy and Security Board. He’s also a board member of the Association for Executives in Healthcare Information Security (AEHIS), a part of the College of Health Information Management Executives (CHIME), and Weber State College’s Computer Science department.
 
Karl received a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Brigham Young University and later a master’s degree in Business Administration.
 
 
Rob Winter, Information Security Officer, Boulder Community Health
 
Rob Winter brings a tremendous amount of security and operational management expertise to his role as the Chief Information Security Officer at Boulder Community Health.  Mr. Winter has two decades of hands-on experience in a variety of IT disciplines including systems administration, web design, penetration testing, security architecture and compliance, and leadership. Prior to joining BCH, Mr. Winter worked in the healthcare industry for top medical centers including Stanford Hospital and Clinics and the University of California San Francisco, the banking industry for JPMorgan, and the telecom industry for USWest.  He has consulted for Dell, Perot Systems, and Accenture where he was able to pass his expertise onto their clients. Mr. Winter is an affiliate professor at Regis University where he designed the undergraduate computer security curriculum and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses.  Mr. Winter holds a Master's degree in Information Assurance and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Networking, various security certifications including CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker, several GIAC certifications, and numerous certifications from Microsoft and Cisco.  He is an active cyclist and a senior member of the Denver and Colorado Springs ISSA chapters.
