Kevin Fu, PhD, is widely credited for his continuous efforts to establish the field of medical device security. He is most known for a decade of research to improve the security of pacemakers, defibrillators, and medical device security in general. He directs the Archimedes Center for Medical Device Security at the University of Michigan. The National Academy of Medicine commissioned his report on trustworthy medical device software. He served as co-chair of the AAMI Working Group on Medical Device Security that created the first technical report recognized by FDA to satisfy federal cybersecurity expectations for device manufacturing. Dr. Fu has testified in the U.S. House and Senate on matters of cybersecurity and healthcare. He trained federal investigators at the HHS Office of the Inspector General on matters pertaining to medical device security audits for compliance. Dr. Fu received his Ph.D. from MIT.  He was named MIT Technology Review TR35 Innovator of the Year. The BlueFlow software from Virta Labs solves problems of cybersecurity risk management for difficult to measure medical device inventory on safety critical networks in healthcare delivery organizations.

Chris Grieco currently serves as the Fort Drum Regional Health Planning (FDRHPO) Chief Information Security Officer. He graduated from Clarkson University with a B. S. in Information Systems and Business Processes. His past experience working as a Systems\Network Administrator and Security Officer in an established global corporate IT environment and in a smaller business environment has provided him with a well-rounded IT skillset. During his over 10 years of working in the IT field he has successfully managed IT projects involving a vast variety of system implementations, business acquisition integrations, as well as performing IT Security Risk Assessment, Auditing, and mitigation initiatives.

Mark Hagland has been Editor-in-Chief of Healthcare Informatics (www.healthcare-informatics.com) since January 2010. Prior to that, he was Contributing Editor and then Senior Contributing Editor to the magazine, for over ten years. He has spent a quarter century in the health care publishing field, as a writer, editor, public speaker, and author. He has won numerous national and regional journalism awards, and is the author of two books on healthcare quality and efficiency: Paradox and Imperatives in Health Care (2008, with Jeffrey C. Bauer, Ph.D.) and Transformative Quality: The Emerging Revolution in Health Care Performance (2009). He holds a master's degree in journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.

David Levin, M.D. is a co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Sansoro Health.  From 2011 to 2014, Dr. Levin served as Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) for the Cleveland Clinic Health System (CCHS) where his focus was on enterprise strategic planning and implementing information systems to support the transformation of healthcare delivery. While at CCHS, Dr. Levin helped establish and lead the CCHS Clinical Systems Office (CSO) that supports clinical information systems operations world-wide. He was also the founder of the CCHS Clinical Decision Support Center of Excellence.  

 

Dr. Levin has over 25 years of experience in diverse areas including hospital, group practice and health plan operations, quality improvement, patient safety and population management. He also brings to bear over 30 years of experience in Information Technology and has worked with a wide variety of clients in both the US and China on the development of clinical and educational IT applications. Dr. Levin is a nationally recognized speaker and has appeared in diverse forums including academic, industry and consumer media ranging from National Public Radio to the Wall Street Journal. He is also the co-author of the book, mHealth: Global Opportunities and Challenges. 

 

Jonathan Mahoney, CISA, CISSP

Jonathan is a seasoned Information Security and Data Protection professional with over 10 years of IT Security and Audit experience. Prior to leading Presidio’s New England Security Practice, he’s previously held positions as a Security Engineer, Security Architect and Principal Security Consultant. Jonathan has extensive experience working with policies and frameworks including NIST 800-53, ISO 27001 and HIPAA as well as implementing security controls to meet those standards.

James Noga serves as Vice-President and Chief Information Officer of Partners HealthCare. Partners HealthCare was founded in 1994 by Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. Mr. Noga comes to this role with a deep and rich history with Partners. He was recruited by Massachusetts General Hospital as Director of Clinical Applications in 1990 and assumed the role CIO of Massachusetts General Hospital and the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization in 1997. Under Mr. Noga’s leadership, the MGH and Partners have undergone significant technology advances to support all aspects of clinical care and research.

Mr. Noga holds an MS Degree in Biomedical Computing and Information Processing and a BS degree in Medical Technology both from the Ohio State University. He is an active member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives and the Health Information and Management Systems Society.

Lori Posk is the Medical Director of MyChart (the personal patient portal) at The Cleveland Clinic. Associate Medical Director Cleveland Clinic Twinsburg Family Health Center. Internal Medicine Physician with 20 years of experience in chronic disease management. Interest is in the personal patient portal and improving health care delivery utilizing electronic tools to enhance quality and efficiency.

 

Leo Scanlon is the HHS Senior Advisor for Healthcare and Public Health (HPH) Sector Cybersecurity and the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer for the Department of Health and Human Services.  He serves as chairman of the HHS Cyber Security Working Group, which coordinates cybersecurity collaboration between HHS Operating Divisions and their partners in the private sector. He is the executive sponsor of the HHS Healthcare Cybersecurity Communications and Integration Center (HCCIC). The HCCIC supports cyber threat and indicator sharing across HHS Operating Divisions, DoD and civilian agency partners, and healthcare cybersecurity stakeholders in the intelligence and law enforcement communities, and the National Health Information Sharing and Analysis Center (NHISAC).
 
Leo has worked at the interagency level as a co-chair of the Identity Credential and Access Management sub-committee of the Information Security and Identify Management Committee (ISIMC), and as a tri-chair of the ISIMC.  He is co-chair of the Government Advisory Council of the International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC2), and government chair of the ACT-IACT Cybersecurity Community of Interest.
 
Prior to joining HHS, Leo served as the CISO for the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) from 2005 to 2015.  While at NARA, he put in place and matured the agency IT Security Program and the Insider Threat program. He came to federal service from the private sector where he developed cybersecurity programs as a federal contractor and in the telecommunications industry.
 

 

 

 

David S. Szabo is Co-Chair of Locke Lord LLP’s Health Care practice, a Partner in the Corporate and Transactional Department, and a member of the Privacy group. He has extensive experience in healthcare licensing and regulation, reimbursement, fraud and abuse compliance matters, and the structuring of joint ventures. He regularly advises clients on Stark Law and Anti-Kickback compliance matters. His practice also includes the privacy and information security law applicable to healthcare providers, health plans, technology vendors, and other organizations. David advises non-profit organizations on general corporate matters, tax, and governance issues. David’s practice includes significant engagements in the implementation of health information technology and shared electronic health record systems, compliance with privacy and information security regulations, and response to data breaches and cyber-security events. His breach response experience includes negotiation with regulatory agencies, breach remediation, and crisis management.
