Non-Opioid Strategies for Chronic Pain

This webinar will examine vital aspects of chronic pain, including the definition of chronic pain and the difference between acute and chronic conditions. Materials will also note aspects of chronic-pain syndrome. Participants will explore evidence-based modalities that help those with chronic pain and learn how to create collaborative interventions with other professionals.
Mindfulness, CBT, compassion, motivational interviewing, ACT, solution focused therapy, havening, EDMR, exercise, breathing, sleep, nutrition and adventure based therapies will be discussed in the context of a chronic pain patient. The presenter will look at the implications of modern efforts to address chronic pain. Finally, attendees will gain a new perspective on a community integration.
Upon completion of this webinar, attendees will be able to:
- Describe the difference between acute and chronic pain.
- Understand how mental health and substance use disorder affects the chronic pain client.
- Identify the role the family has with chronic pain.
- Identify evidence-based strategies clinicians can use with chronic pain clients.
- Identify how clinicians may interact with other professionals when treating the chronic pain client.
About the Speaker:
Louise Stanger uses an invitational intervention approach to treat complicated mental health, substance use disorder, chronic pain and process addiction clients. She speaks and conducts training all over the country and has developed original family programs. Stanger is the recipient of the 2014 Foundations Fan Favorite Speaker Award and the 2016 Joseph L. Galletta Spirit of Recovery Award. She is the author of “Falling Up: A Memoir of Renewal” and “Learn to Thrive: An Intervention Handbook.”
