Robert Kirchoff, MD
Medical Director, Foundations Detroit
 
Serving as the medical director for Foundations Detroit, Dr. Robert Kirchoff has significant experience in treating both addictions and psychiatric concerns. With specialized training in addiction medicine, Dr. Kirchoff is passionate about helping individuals with co-occuring disorders. He believes in being optimally informed about physical health disorders, such as thyroid dysfunction and blood sugar issues, and their resulting impact on mental and emotional health. Dr. Kirchoff's internal medicine training includes experience from his residency at Crittenden Hospital with Dr. Robert LaCoste, which included psychiatric medication management.

Stephanie Christy began her work in the addiction and recovery fields over a decade ago.  Stephanie strongly believes in the impact addiction has on the entire family and in the recovery of family system as a whole.  Her passion for recovery continues to lead her to work with both those suffering from addiction and their families in multiple arenas.  Her personal story of recovery reflects the various routes addiction can take in affecting the individual.

Stephanie has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including residential and outpatient treatment.  Stephanie previously acted as a Program Manager at the Hanley Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.  She has performed clinical research at the University of Michigan’s Addiction Research Center (UMARC) and served as Adjunct Faculty in Addiction Studies at Madonna University and Wayne State University.
Stephanie has a specialization in trauma therapy and has been trained in DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy).  She is equally adept at working with young adults as she is with Baby Boomers and older adults.  She specializes in complex cases including those suffering from multiple addictions and other co-occurring disorders.  In her work as an interventionist, Stephanie’s broad personal and professional experience allow her to quickly, compassionately, and effectively analyze a family’s situation and offer the perspective of the unique blend of her experiences.

Stephanie earned both her Bachelor’s degree in History and Psychology and her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan.  She is a licensed Social Worker in both Michigan (LMSW) and Florida (LCSW), a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) in Michigan, a Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) in Florida, and an Internationally Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICAADC). Stephanie also serves on the of the Michigan Gambling Disorders Treatment Panel.

Stephanie Christy is passionate about imparting the gifts of recovery to individuals and families.  She is also a devoted mother.
Mark McMillan, LMSW, CAADC
Clinical Therapist at The Center for Relationship and Sexual Health
 
Mark is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), and Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CAADC), specializing in recovery issues and diverse populations at the Center for Relationship and Sexual Health (CRSH). After completing his Bachelor's in Social Work, he joined the Peace Corps and served as an HIV/AIDS Education Volunteer in Bangkok, Thailand. He obtained his Masters from the advanced MSW program from Wayne State University, with a concentration in substance abuse & addiction. Being in recovery himself from alcohol for over 14 years has given Mark a unique perspective on the challenges facing an LGBTQ+ individual seeking addiction treatment. In addition to substance abuse counseling, Mark also is an experienced therapist with depression, anxiety, couples counseling and other mental health issues.
 
Professionally, Mark is a trained facilitator in a variety of sensitivity trainings and workshops, and has experience working with inclusion & microaggression issues from several special population perspectives. Mark has presented on addiction issues and the LGBTQ+ community at a local, state and national level. In addition to his clinical and professional experience, Mark is also a Board Member at large for the National Association of LGBTQ+ Addiction Professionals (NALGAP), dedicated to the prevention and treatment of alcoholism, substance abuse, and other addictions in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities.
