Tonmoy Sharma, CEO of Sovereign Health, has been recognized with numerous awards, honors and grants for his work in advancing mental health and its treatment in the United States, Europe and Southeast Asia. His background as a psychiatrist has provided him with unique insight into his management of facilities in the United States, Europe and India. He has been a prolific researcher and scientist, having authored or co-authored more than 200 peer-reviewed articles and five books on schizophrenia and mental illness. Under his leadership, Sovereign Health has grown from a small facility in San Clemente to a national brand spanning five states and comprising nine fully functional facilities that treat addiction, mental illness and co-occurring disorders, brain wellness, and behavioral health programs for eating disorders. Under his leadership Sovereign Health has been on the Inc 5000 fastest growing companies for the third year running. Dr Sharma has been a member of several editorial boards, a peer reviewer for 14 international medical journals, and has served on various advisory boards governing the development of antipsychotics. As a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists London, Changing Minds Campaign, he helped lead a five-year initiative to combat the stigma of mental illness. He was recently elected as a Board Member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Orange County. He currently co-hosts KABC Los Angeles 790 AM’s In Your Right Mind, a cutting-edge, weekly radio show that covers various topics on the latest headlines in behavioral health.
President & CEO, Gosnold
Mr. Tamasi is President and CEO of Gosnold on Cape Cod, a diversified addiction and mental health program. Mr. Tamasi has 40 years of experience developing and managing treatment, intervention, and prevention services. The Gosnold continuum of care consists of 175 beds that include acute, sub-acute, extended care, and assisted sober living. Seven outpatient clinics provide partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, ambulatory detoxification, medication-assisted treatment, and a full range of mental health and addiction services. Supporting and extending these core services are a primary integration program that embeds clinicians in medical practices, hospital-based consultation services, school-based services, recovery coaching, and the use of smartphone technology to maintain engagement with patients. Gosnold employs more than 400 professional and support staff. Mr. Tamasi has been recognized nationally for the development of innovative approaches and programs. He is a frequent speaker on issues of policy and a redefining of the addiction treatment and prevention system. Mr. Tamasi is on the Board of the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP), a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Network for the Improvement of Addiction Treatment, the Cape Cod Hospital Board of Incorporators, and the Association for Behavioral Health. Mr. Tamasi has a Bachelor's of Arts in Economics and a Master's in Education with a concentration in Counseling and Healthcare Administration.
