We are in the throes of an opioid epidemic that is affecting families all across the United States, and we do not have a cohesive strategy for treatment. Families must be educated about pain management, the addiction process, their rights as consumers of healthcare and the various options for treatment.

In this webinar, Mary Woods will discuss brain addiction, coping strategies for families and evidenced-based practices. She will review four different models of intervening in the parenting process, while addressing substance misuse and trauma in two parenting programs.

Upon completion of this webinar, attendees will be able to:

  • Review the current recommendations for pain management and discuss three alternatives to opiates for pain
  • Learn three coping strategies for managing addiction with family members
  • Review three evidence-based practices for the treatment of opioid use disorder
