With a rich history as the Northeast Ohio hospital association, dating back to 1916, The Center for Health Affairs serves as the collective voice of hospitals and the source for Northeast Ohio hospital and healthcare information. As the leading advocate for Northeast Ohio hospitals, The Center aims to enhance the effectiveness of the healthcare community and the health of the communities it serves by providing expertise, resources and solutions to address the challenges faced by the region’s healthcare providers. The Center’s efforts focus on areas that benefit member hospitals from a regional approach, including healthcare workforce; emergency preparedness; public policy and advocacy; finance and reimbursement; and community initiatives.

The Ohio Public Health Association (OPHA) is the Ohio affiliate of the American Public Health Association (APHA). We are a non-profit, 501c3 professional organization for all those who work in or are interested in the various fields of Public Health.

We have over 550 members, representing thousands of Public Health professionals across our state. They work in local health departments, state agencies, universities, voluntary organizations and other venues. They are nurses, registered sanitarians, health educators, vital statistics professionals, health commissioners, program managers, epidemiologists, advocates, faculty and students.

Our mission is to be the “inclusive voice for Public Health and to ensure the optimal health of all Ohioans.” Our priorities are the concept of Health and Equity in All Policies; tobacco prevention and control; obesity prevention; environmental Public Health; injury prevention and control, health access and health equities.

We provide professional education, opportunities for networking among professionals, communication and news updates, and advocacy on a wide variety of Public Health topics.
