Associate Laboratory Director Agnes D. Winokur has worked for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for more than 20 years. She has served as a Forensic Chemist, a Supervisor, and a Program Manager in various locations within DEA. Agnes currently serves in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Organization of Scientific Area Committees for Forensic Science (OSAC) Seized Drugs Sub-committee, which focuses on standards and guidelines related to the forensic analysis of seized drugs in the United States. She is a member of the International Scientific Working Group for the Analysis of Seized Drugs (SWGDRUG), which works to improve the quality of the forensic examination of seized drugs for the international forensic community. Not only is she an active member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, but she is also the Co-chair of the Academy’s Opioids Committee. Her commitment to standard developing efforts in the United States and abroad is also evident through her work as Vice-chair and technical contact for numerous forensic drug related standards at the ASTM International E30 Forensic Science Committee.
