Substance use and addiction have been problematic in the United States for many decades, and endless efforts to curb them have been largely unsuccessful. Adi Jaffe, a renowned addiction expert and TEDx speaker, will provide an alternative
explanation for this vexing problem: shame. Through stories, research and personal anecdotes, Jaffe makes theassertion that our approach to drug use is exacerbating rather than alleviating the problem. In his presentation, Jaffe willoffer an alternate route forward that addresses barriers and guides clients toward improvement without shame.
