This presentation focuses on the impact of betrayal trauma on the “coupleship” relationship. Facilitated disclosure of infidelity secrets will be addressed as well common reactions to the trauma of betrayal in a relationship where one partner has struggled with addictive sexual behavior. Therapeutic techniques for assisting the offending party to respond in an empathic and sensitive manner will be discussed.
