Dr. Reynolds has over 20 years of experience in a broad range of physician leadership roles. He served as CMIO for 11 years and VP and CIO for 5 years at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha. He led a highly successful and cost-effective Epic Enterprise implementation. George believes passionately that the EHR, when designed and implemented well, can improve care and enhance efficiency. Certified in several Epic modules, he is an effective communicator and translator of medical and technical/Epic speech. He is a skilled team builder and loves engaging leaders, the medical staff and other clinicians in the change process.

George’s expertise includes project design and management, analytics and data governance, IT governance, patient engagement and population health management using the Healthy Planet toolset, workflow analysis, clinical decision support and clinical documentation improvement. He has a special interest in helping organizations develop efficient, lean project leadership and staffing.

He is board certified in Clinical Informatics, Pediatric Critical Care and General Pediatrics and directed the PICUs at Children’s and the Nebraska Medical Center. He also holds a masters degree in Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University. He has been recognized as Healthcare Informatics’ Innovator of the year for Children’s Analytics program, as well as the AMDIS Award in Applied Medical Informatics. Modern Healthcare named him one of the 25 top Clinical Informaticists and Becker’s Healthcare included him in their 25 CMIOs to know list.
