Walter Kwiatek joined the DCRI in August of 2015 as head of Information Technology and added additional responsibilities of Research Informatics & Clinical Data Management in 2016 and became Chief Academic Information Officer of Duke's School of Medicine in 2018. He has been working in the life science industries for more than 20 years and his experience covers pharma, biologics, consumer health, medical device in numerous operating areas such as research, development, manufacturing, distribution and CMO. He has held numerous CIO and VP roles in both startup and large operations. Walter holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics, master degree in computer science, MBA in Management and is a Lean6Sigma Blackbelt.
