Clients who struggle with suicidal ideation share some common themes, among them are a struggle with interpersonal relationships, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and toxic thinking. This workshop will provide education in assessment, treatment and management for those at risk for suicide.
Upon attending this session, attendees will be able to:
  • Identify signs and symptoms that indicate suicidal ideation and explore the CAMS Model for suicidality.
  • Describe and examine three applications of DBT and CBT to the suicidal person
  • Review and learn specific strategies that foster adaptation and resiliency, including somatic resourcing, remembered resources, art, writing and mindfulness.
