Philip T. McCabe is a Health Educator for Rutgers School of Public Health, in the Office of Public Health Practice, and an instructor for Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and Rutgers School of Nursing providing training on Cultural Competency, working with Lesbian Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Individuals. He is the President of NALGAP the Association of LGBT Addiction Professionals and Their Allies
Upon completion of this session, attendees will be able to:
- Distinguish between sexual orientation and gender expressions, and identify terminology used.
- Describe the prevalence and consequences of interpersonal violence and trauma as it pertains to LGBT individuals
- Discuss policy recommendations to improve LGBT inclusion and safety for individuals affected by trauma.
