Speaker Bio
Highlighted as one of the “influential women reshaping health IT” in March 2018, Ms. Sarah Sossong is a seasoned healthcare executive, and an expert in digital health.

On both coasts, Sarah has pioneered large-scale innovations from concept to national recognition in health systems both large and small, urban and rural, for-profit and not-for-profit, and academic and community based. Working with Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco, Sarah designed, piloted, and scaled KP’s first enterprise telemedicine program in TeleDermatology, cited as “the most robust program in the U.S.” in 2009.

Switching coasts and systems, Sarah was hired to launch Mass General’s Center for TeleHealth, a digital health startup within the walls of a two-hundred-year-old academic medical center. Sarah has brought a comprehensive suite of telehealth services from Mass General clinicians to market, ranging from Remote Second Opinions to Urgent Care, which have now touched over 30,000 patients. With Sarah at the helm of efforts ranging from reimbursement advocacy with commercial payers and state and federal government, to mentoring startups and local accelerator programs, Sarah has been instrumental in positioning Mass General as a systems leader in digital health.

Sarah’s involvement in digital health outside of Mass General includes mentoring digital health startups, presenting and writing on telehealth, and participating in national committees and boards to advance adoption of telehealth.

She earned her master’s degree in health policy and management at the University of California
at Berkeley and graduated from Princeton University.
