Description
Think you’re not doing telehealth? Think again. Not only are you doing it, but there are specific legal and ethical requirements you’re mandated to follow. If you’re found to be in violation, pleading ignorance won’t get you off the hook. Sound scary or overwhelming? Doesn’t have to be! Sound dull and boring? Doesn’t have to be! This all day workshop will not only teach you how to be in compliance, but will also explore ways to make technology work for you. Ethical use of technology is not just about risk management. It’s also about using technology to help you run your practice more efficiently and maybe even have a good time doing it. In addition to covering the basics, we’ll also look at specific ethical dilemmas and show you possible ways to manage them. The session includes information on the safety of web-based technologies vs. desktop technologies as well as potential social media risks and ways to minimize them.
Upon completion of this session, attendees will be able to:
1. Discuss the pros and cons of storing client records on the web. Include information on the safety of web-based technologies vs. desktop technologies.
